This is Foglifter’s third year at AWP, and we’re going to be everywhere you look!

Not only are we at the official AWP bookfair, but we’re also delighted have a table at Whale Prom on Saturday, “an irreverent, accessible, free-admission book fair dedicated to independent presses & the people who love them.” (Learn more at their website.) We’ll be offering new, exclusive merch and giveaways, along with selling our publications!

Our EIC, Luiza Flynn-Goodlett, is moderating a panel on our behalf—We’re Here, We’re Queer: LGBTQ+ Small Presses and Journals Speak Up (Friday, 1:45 – 3:00 p.m.): There’s a vibrant history of LGBTQ+ writers protesting, celebrating, and finding belonging in shared creative endeavors, and today’s most urgent, celebrated writing is emerging from small queer presses and journals. tammy lynne stoner and Stephanie Glazier from Gertrude Press, and Dena Rod from Homology Lit detail the joys and struggles of dedicating a venture to queer work and queer authors; share their journey of starting or growing a queer literary organization; and encourage the audience to similarly devote themselves to the queer literary community.

Finally, please join Foglifter for our AWP off-site event The Horizon Is Not a Bordercurated by Raquel Gutiérrez, and featuring Raquel Salas RiveraPatrick Mullen-Coyoy, Jake Skeets, Zefyr Lisowski, T Fleischmann, Destiny O.
